Revision of a previously completed project
Yesterday was the last day in university before Xmas Holiday and in some reason I can't calm down! I wanted to take a little rest but I have many things what I want to complete during the holidays. First of all, my portfolio is on the top of my to do list. I will need a very strong portfolio to get a great work placement and proove my best.
So...I started to organize my works for my portfolio and I didn't like the building exterior which I designed half year ago at the User Centered Modul so I decided to revisit the project and do it over again.
It is really interesting this time I designing so much creatively and logically than a few months ago!
It's very good to see my improvements.
This time was really useful as I learnt lots of new techniques in Photoshop and I don't need neccessery rendering softwares. I was obsessed using rendering softwares last year but now I start feeling confident using only Photoshop to make the effect what I want.
So, how did I start the project again?

DAY 1
First, I revisited my floor plans which actually was logicaly designed, as all the toilets, baths, and staircase were on the same position of each floor. When I started refresh the project, I didn't really wanted make everything from the basics, but I had no choice due my new exterior plans.
I went to google and looked at Villa Shodhan again to get some inspiration. The main point was the squares in my design. Shodhan is very minimal in colours but interesting in the form of design.
I was sure about using of large windows, double-height rooms, terraces and open spaces in my design.
I started with some sketch ideas:

DAY 2
I built my first idea in Sketchup. I didn't like it, it wasn't that bad, but something has missed.
I continued with more sketching.

I built the new plans in SU and I left it unfinished as I started to redesign the floor plans. It was quite hard to redesign everything logically due the exterior designs. I think the plans are not bad.
(Next year I might be revisiting it again haha :) )

DAY 3
After I drew everything in AutoCad I imported the pdf files to SU and started to build the levels. I had to make some little changes in the exterior designs when I seen the overall look.
I was struggling with the colour choice of the middle front square between yellow and green.
As you can see on the final design, the yellow is the winner.
I spent lots of hours with experimenting in PS. I really like the tools and playing with the images:
As the apartment belongs to a young professional couple, I wanted to mix the minimalistic design with modern elements, such as the vivid yellow square on the middle and using lots of glass.

DAY 4
I had an idea how I want to make my Floor Plans in my Portfolio: mixing a 3D built floor and a CAD drawing and adding some shadows too. I think it's make them more interesting and eye-catching rather then a usual cad floor plan.

Then, I started to play with them in PS again. I want to use strong colours in my Portfolio but not sure yet which ones.

Furthermore, I rendered in PS the Front and Back Elevation.

DAY 5
I was working on the cover images/ street views. I made a day and night scene too. I have learnt the way how I can render the water very realistic. It's a super useful thing.
I have also started to design each levels. It's going to be a bit long proccess but hopefully it will worth the effort.

DAY 6
I was working on the design today too. I have very different ideas then last year. I have learnt about the colours in gender and I'm more inspired by Le Corbusier style. I am using very basic design elements rather then the previously embellishments. I try to focus to details too and using the colours which was in Villa Shodhan. I try to find the way between simple, classic and modern design.
These are the very first images from the Gallery, Living Room, and Kitchen so far:
