DEVELOPING COMPUTER SKILLS
As an interior architect, I have to be up to date with all relevant computer softwares which can help me to visualize and express my ideas of the project's different stages, such as in analyzation, in the actual design process and in client presentations. Having a knowledge in different computer softwares is a very important and essential skill today, however I still believe that hand-drawing is also indispensableI in designing jobs.
In this blog post, I will update my software knowledge development weekly.
LESSON 18
March 2, 2016
Today we continued to work in PhotoShop. We did a quite complex task - we had several images from a model in SketchUp, like shadows, edges, wireframes, sections, and we had to create an abstract presentation board from these images. We had a final image based on the bits so we had something to follow. It was really good to experiment and I liked to make it.
Here are the images what we used in Photoshop to create the final image:

LESSON 17
February 24, 2016
Today we worked in Photoshop again and created an image based on Alex Hogrefe tutorials. It's a model on top view and we played with the shadows. I really liked this exercise, it was good to practice to recreate the same image of someone else. However it's a bit tricky but not impossible. Here are the 2 exported images from SketchUp:
This is Hogrefe's final image:

And this is mine:

There is a resolution problem on my image as it wasn't importd in high quality but I think I did quite good job on this. :) Of course it's not 100% the same as Hogrefe's but nearly there! I will definetely try this method on my future prjects.
LESSON 16
February 17, 2016
Today we were working in Photoshop and leart some techniques to make more realistic an image which was imported from SketchUp. We added some textures to overlay the image like dirt map. I really liked this session and definetely will use this in my projects.
LESSON 14
February 3, 2016
Today we were working in Artlantis again. We used it last year but we started with a re-cap of the basic tools. This is a good software to render SketchUp images and it's not hard to use.
LESSON 13
January 20, 2016
"Dynamo Open source graphical programming for design and extends building information modeling with the data and logic environment of a graphical algorithm editor."
Today we had an opportunity to learn the basic things of Dynamo. It was quite difficult for the first time, though I like it really.
LESSON 12
January 13, 2016
We were working on 3Ds Max basic tools. Just a quick insight into the software.
LESSON 11
December 9, 2015
Today we concentrated to how to create a surface pattern of an organic shape. It was really interesting and not that hard.
LESSON 10
December 2, 2015
Today we get an insight to InDesign software. It is one of the really useful supplies what we need to be aware of. I probably will use this to design my portfolio. We looked at the basic things, such as insert an image to a designated area on a page, and modify text styles, also using text wrapping around an image.
Adobe InDesign CC

LESSON 8 - LESSON 9
November 18 - 25, 2015
Last week (lesson 8) I wasn't able to attend as I was in Hungary. Fortunately I didn't miss anything as Paul showed everything again today and we just hade to practice it. Today we learnt how to draw a building into a Site Plan. We know how to modify the buildings and creating curvy shaped forms.
LESSON 7
November 11, 2015
Today we arranged the Floor Level Plans DWG files from AutoCAD to REVIT and started to build the building. It wasn't that hard. We learnt how we can do curved walls and stairs on each floors. We also learnt to modify the stairs landing.
LESSON 6
November 4, 2015
Today we were working on our reception desk technical drawings so we didn't learn anything new from Revit.
LESSON 5
October 28, 2015
Today we learnt how to import DWG file from AutoCAD to REVIT and manage the Layers and Levels. We learnt 3 way to do this. It was a bit complicated exercise for me but PRACTICE is my good friend. :)
LESSON 4
October 21, 2015
Today we looked at an example how to make a surface of a site, chopping around the building, and how to insert rooms into the floors. We also made a presentation board to show each rooms.
LESSON 3
October 15, 2015
We continued our office building and learnt about how to insert stairs perfectly. We also started to use the rendering tool. Here is the third lesson print screens and notes:
LESSON 2 October 8, 2015
We continued to learn the basic tools and elements of the program. Also started to build an office building. We learnt about how to take floors, walls, doors, furnitures to our drawing.
LESSON 1
October 1, 2015
We started to study about the shortcuts and some basic tool. Then we drew a building and experiment with the tools. Here is the journey in pictures and notes:
